Love from Nauplia

First, let me start by saying ``Greek keyboards are tricky!``

Any typos from here on out are acceptable.

Sorry all to who have been follwing the blog with no results. We`ve had a bit of a slow start, but it`s only because we`ve been so incredibly busy! The last few days have been full of momuments (the Parthenon on the Athens Acropolis or highest point of a city, the famous apitheatrre, the ancient city of Mycenae and the Venetian fortress atop of the acropolis of Nauplia.

We have learned not only a lot about this country, but a lot about one another over the last few days.  We`ve been letting our walls down and getting to know individuals better.  We hope to continue this trend as we move back to Athens tomorrow and Crete the following day.

We have had a number of fantastic musical experiences as well over the past few days: we sang in both the ampithetre & the tomb of Agamemnon in Mycenae as well as performed 2 concerts.  First was in Athens for over 1000 people (and unfortunately, their ringing cell phones at times) as well as a small audience at a church in the center square.  In my 3 years, I don`t know if I`ve ever heard concert choir sound so good. So many wonderful memories.

Tomorrow we head back to our Athens hotel for a new year`s celebration - can`t wait!

Hopefully the next post will be complete with video & picture- way more difficult than I thought from a public computer (in the Greek alphabet...)

  2. With all due respect, Greece includes Crete.
The territorial sensitivities in Europe are very high. Please correct your blog to, let's say
"Greece and the Greek Island of Crete",
You wouldn't like to see something like " Choir trip to U.S.A and California" would you.

Happy New Year and all the best to your choir trip in Greece.

  5. Mr.Gary , Crete is Greece . Who created the Temple of Delphi(Delphinios Apollo) one in Knossos ,the other in center of Athens the third in Delphi !!!
is nice to visit the Temple of Olympius Zeus in the center of Athens where is located also the Temple of PanHellenic Zeus and Delphinios Apollo.

you cannot present Crete as a different country, I assume that you did it only for emphasizing the visit in the greek island of Crete.
Many years different centers, especially americans-zionist, try to present Crete as non belonging to Greece and we fight against this propaganda of idiots or enemies . Some years ago Israel presented maps showing Crete as part of Israel country!!!
So you have to take into account that there is in our area a continuous war against the propaganda from zionists and turks centers .

Is like to say "I will visit United States of America and then Hawaii" , how does this sounds in your ears ???

  6. What the hell, Crete is an Island in Greece! What typical US citizens don't even know the world around them but they always involve themselves into everyone else’s business!

  13. Well Mr. Gary R. Schwartzhoff,
You sure stepped into a lot of doodoo.
You could graciously offer an apology and get it over with. But you chose to abandon the blog and ignore the comments. Good for you. Just remember that insulting national feelings goes both ways.
So I hope that you will not get offended when others insult the U.S.
